The Platform Edge is a small local surf-rock band that reached out to me to make some art work for them. I was given a lot of creative freedom in this project which made it very fun for me. The band gave me a couple reference images for inspiration but aside from that direction, everything was my own idea. The band's sound incorporates bits of indie rock, surf rock, and bedroom pop. I was really inspired by retro 60's psychedelic illustrations. The album title, "Come with me there's a lot to see" made me think of taking someone on a journey. The title combined with the psychedelic inspiration I had led me to the surreal illustration I made. I wanted to use simple shapes but create visual interest with perspective and patterns. I created a sense of depth by overlapping clouds on the boxes holding the rest of the illustrations in. As far as colors and typography go as I wanted everything to be bold.
